Search and Go is still very much in its Beta.2 stage as we release more content onto the website with good unique articles. Some of the apps we have to release in the coming months will include weather, mapping, financial tools and more… today we released GeoID a Google Mashup that allows a visitor to click the button and arrive on a map that shows their current location and other visitors locations. It is free and a fun application to have for a website. When a visitor arrives on our map page it will show on the page a box that tells you the website you came from and how many people have visited ‘your website’ in the past 24 hours with markers that when clicked will show their LONG/LAT of their location.

The app can be placed on a website or a blog and looks like the small red and white button to the right of this page. In case you have images turned off here is the link: http://www.searchandgo.com/geo/

Should prove quite useful. We release other functionality to it in the coming months. GeoID is built using AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript And XML) and refreshes a little faster than other similar apps.

Official Search and Go Blog

We have now started a blog for the Search and Go project at http://www.blog.searchandgo.com/ It will be the official blog that will announce and track developments and new services as they are added. Ed re-hacked Wordpress for it and after a few goes around the block we got something we were all happy with. Search and Go Blog

We have had a busy few days, working with a major flu and it has had some real undesirable effects on the body but at the same time puts everything into a kind of surreal perspective. A lot of new articles have now gone live and we have been working on the GeoID app which I’ll chat about in the next post, in the meantime one of the articles we have just published is titled: Blogging Explained and comes from our very popular explained series.
